1. Who we are

PlayerLens is operated by Segment Technologies LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company ("PlayerLens," "we," "us," "our").

These Terms govern your use of the PlayerLens website and the PlayerLens player-development application. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. You must be an adult

You must be at least 18 years old to create or hold a PlayerLens account.

PlayerLens is designed for parents, guardians, coaches, and instructors. It is not designed for, marketed to, or made available to minors. Minors do not create accounts, do not log in, and are not contacted by us.

A minor athlete may be the subject of content you upload. A minor is never a user of the service.

If we learn that an account is held by someone under 18, we will close it.

3. Your authority to upload

This is the most important obligation in these Terms.

By uploading video or creating an athlete profile, you represent and warrant that you have the legal right and authority to do so. Specifically:

• If the athlete is your own minor child, you are their parent or legal guardian.
• If the athlete is someone else's minor child, you have obtained the express permission of that athlete's parent or legal guardian before uploading video of them or creating a profile for them.
• If the athlete is an adult, you have their permission.
• You have the right to grant us the license described in Section 6.

Coaches, instructors, and team administrators: this obligation is yours, not ours. We have no practical way to verify parental permission, and we do not attempt to. You are responsible for obtaining it. We strongly recommend obtaining it in writing before uploading video of an athlete who is not your own child.

You must not upload video containing individuals who have not consented to appear, beyond incidental background presence typical of a practice or game setting.

4. What the service does, and what it does not do

PlayerLens accepts video you upload, processes it, and returns AI-generated observations, scores, and drill recommendations.

You must understand the following before relying on any output:

• It is not a coach. Output does not replace a coach, private instructor, or trainer.
• It is not medical advice. Output is not a medical, physical-therapy, injury, or health assessment of any kind. Do not use it to diagnose, treat, or make decisions about an athlete's physical health. Consult a qualified medical professional for anything health-related.
• It is not laboratory biomechanics. Analysis is derived from markerless computer-vision estimates on a small number of sampled still frames — not sensors, motion capture, or validated biomechanical measurement.
• It is not a scouting or recruiting evaluation. Scores are model judgments on a 0–100 scale. They are not scouting grades, do not compare an athlete to any validated benchmark or age norm, and do not predict future performance.
• Results vary. Different models, prompts, video quality, camera angles, lighting, or simply re-running the same analysis may produce different results.
• It can be wrong. Pose detection can fail or mislead when an athlete is small in frame, occluded, poorly lit, or cropped. Generated text can be inaccurate.

All output should be reviewed by a knowledgeable human before making consequential changes to an athlete's training.

5. Early-access status

PlayerLens is early-stage software provided on an invite-only basis.

• There is no uptime commitment and no service level agreement.
• There is no guaranteed processing or turnaround time for any upload.
• Features may change, break, or be removed.
• Processing may fail and require a manual retry.

6. Your content and our license to it

You keep ownership of everything you upload. Video, athlete profiles, notes, and goals remain yours.

You grant Segment Technologies LLC a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to store, process, transmit, and create derivative artifacts from your uploads for the sole purpose of providing the service to you. Derivative artifacts include thumbnails, sampled frames, pose-estimate overlays, computed metrics, analysis slideshows, and generated evaluation text.

This license exists only so we can run the product. It ends when you delete the content or close your account, subject to the retention periods described in the Privacy Policy.

We do not use your video to train AI models. See the Privacy Policy for detail.

We do not sell your content. We do not license it to third parties. We do not use it for advertising.

7. Acceptable use

You may not:

• Upload video you do not have the right to upload, or video of an athlete whose parent or guardian has not permitted it.
• Upload content that is unlawful, harassing, sexually explicit, or that depicts a minor in any inappropriate manner.
• Use the service to evaluate, scout, or profile an athlete without the knowledge of that athlete's parent or guardian.
• Share your account credentials, or access athlete data you are not authorized to see.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the service.
• Resell or redistribute the service or its output as your own product.

We may suspend or terminate any account we believe is violating this section, without notice.

8. Teams and shared access

The service supports teams. When you join a team or add an athlete to one, other team members with appropriate roles may be able to view that athlete's profile, video, and evaluations.

Before adding an athlete to a team, make sure the athlete's parent or guardian understands who will be able to see that content. Team access is a sharing feature; treat it accordingly.

Team owners and administrators are responsible for who they invite.

9. Deleting your content and closing your account

You may delete athlete profiles, video sessions, and your account.

We may retain limited records where we are legally required to.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any output will be accurate or useful.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Segment Technologies LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or loss of goodwill, arising from your use of the service.

In particular, we are not liable for any athletic injury, training decision, coaching decision, or health outcome connected to the service or its output. The service produces observations from video. Decisions about how an athlete trains remain yours.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, in which case they apply to the fullest extent permitted.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Segment Technologies LLC from any claim, damage, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from content you uploaded, your breach of these Terms, or — specifically — your upload of video of an athlete without the required parental or guardian permission.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. For material changes we will provide notice by email or in the application before the change takes effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
